Parent Organization: Academic and Special Interest

The purpose of this organization is to promote the concept of no matter what your individual and/or industrial skills are, your attitude is what makes the difference when helping others. Together we can create an atmosphere and a dwelling in which we all want to live; to further the search to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action; and, to encourage all walks of life to participate in volunteer activities to better their surrounding communities and make a positive change to the lives of the people who need it most. Our chapter does its best at creating a safe and peaceful environment for students and resisdents in the surrounding area.

Describe Activities Of Organization

Habitat for Humanity strives to eliminate sub-standard housing across the world. The CCSU Campus Chapter assists on projects in the Hartford and New Britain areas, as well as at ReStores throughout the state. Additionally, CCSU Campus Chapter annually attends the Habitat for Humanity Collegiate Challenge and travels to other states to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. In the past three years we have gone to Georgia, Florida, Texas! In order for all of these activities to be properly funded, we ask students to participate in our various fundraisers throughout the year.
